Our first year

A new animation video called ‘Looking Back, Looking Forward’ has been unveiled by NHS Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The video was launched at the CCG’s first annual general meeting to give people a snapshot of the beneficial changes that have been made to local health services during the last year.

The first part of the video reflects on some of the CCG’s successes which were achieved by involving and listening to the valuable feedback from local people. The second half of the video focuses on the future of commissioning development of local health services and what the commissioning intentions will look like in a few years time. The video can be seen below

Dr Steve Allen, Chief Clinical Officer of NHS Coventry and Rugby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “We were delighted to share our latest animation video at the AGM.

“This was an important event, and an excellent opportunity for everyone to get together on a shared platform. Our video takes people through a visual journey of the positive commissioning changes that we have made to local services by listening to and taking on board the valuable feedback from local people.

“Our successes and future developments as a commissioning organisation is a true testament of our local population, staff, GP colleagues and clinicians who have been closely involved with our decision making every step of the way.

“We always look forward to meeting people at our public events and keen to hear from patients and members of the public to get involved with our common goal, which is to work together to improve health services for everyone as far as possible and make positive changes in the future.“

The annual meeting was held by the CCG in Coventry, where more than forty people attended. Members of the Governing Body presented the CCG’s responsibilities, performance, financial position and plans for future commissioning intentions. A patient champion spoke about his positive experience of being able to get involved with the CCG and that the patient voice is taken seriously and listened to.

NHS Coventry and Rugby CCG is the organisation responsible for planning, monitoring and buying services for local people in the city of Coventry and Rugby Borough. The CCG brings together 77 member practices, and has a budget of £553 million per year which will be spent on areas such as; hospital, community health and mental health services on behalf of a population of 460,000 people.
