Like everyone else in the NHS, we want to vaccinate as many people as possible as quickly as possible but deploying a vaccine at this scale is unprecedented, and timing will be subject, in part, to manufacturing timescales and supply.
Nationally the vaccination programme is described as a marathon not a sprint, and vaccination centres are being rolled out gradually. The following Local Vaccination Centres are now vaccinating their patients aged 80 and over, care home residents and staff and some healthcare staff. Please note that if your GP is vaccinating their patients and you are eligible for a vaccine, you might not get a call straight away, most GP practices have a lot of patients over 80 and they get a limited amount of vaccine at any one time. But please be assured you will be called as soon as there is a vaccine for you.
