How you've influenced our work

Below are some quick snapshots of how involving patients and the public has influenced commissioning work.

Brownsover Medical Centre

  • We created a patient reference group to help guide and inform the procurement of a new medical service provider for Brownsover Medical Centre
  • This group helped to draft the tender, review the questions and interview potential candidates
  • The group also helped choose the colour scheme used throughout the completed building, voting for their favourite from a selection of Rugby themed options

Anchor Meridian

  • We created a patient reference group to help guide and inform the procurment of a new medical service provider for the Anchor and Meridian practices, which support refugees, asylum seekers and the homeless
  • The group helped to draft the tender, review the questions and interview potential candidates

Stroke reconfiguration

  • Significant engagement with patients and the public helped identify some gaps in our proposals, specifically around transport, rehabilitation and workforce, which people felt were critical to any proposed changes to the way stroke services are delivered
  • The proposals were revised significantly to place more focus on these issues

Maternity and paediatrics

  • Over 700 people provided feedback on maternity and paediatrics through a specific engagement programme and our commissioning intentions
  • This feedback was used to draft a set of "desirable criteria" (i.e. "what's important to me") and an outcomes framework ("what I'd like to see)
  • This feedback is being shared with providers of maternity and paediatrics services, who will use it to ensure the services meet the complex and varied needs of mothers, mothers to be, families and carers
